Printable Spring Cleaning List

Spring Cleaning List

Kitchen:

Change water filter
Wash pot holders

Clean appliances: coffee maker, oven, stove, blender, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher

Check dishwasher hoses for leaks

Eat out freezer, refrigerator, and pantry

Mop kitchen floor including under stove

Clean trashcan

Organize pantry and cabinets

Clean floor, counters, cabinets, walls, light fixtures, windows and ceiling

Clean kitchen range hood screens

Wipe down blinds, wash curtains and windows

Go through cook books and get rid of unused cook books

Update recipe binder

Make a donation to the food pantry

Sell or donate any unwanted dishes or appliances

Living room:

Wash walls, ceiling, door, floors

Clean couch

Dust TV and other electronics

Dust book and book shelves

Wash curtains

Donate unwanted toys and books

Change smoke detector battery

Bedrooms:

Wash curtains, wipe down blinds, wash windows

Change out wardrobe and donate unwanted items

Replace any worn out clothing and shoes

Vacuum and turn mattress

Switch to summer sheets and blankets

Launder pillows

Clean out closet, dresser and night stand drawers

Dust surfaces

Wash walls, ceiling, and door

Change smoke detector battery

Laundry Room:

Mend clothes

Donate unwanted clothes and shoes

Check washer hose connections

Run washer with just white vinegar

Wipe down walls of dryer with damp cloth and clean out lint trap

Dust shelves and surfaces

Clean floors including behind washer and dryer

Clean window

Wipe down iron with baking soda and water using Q-tips® to get inside holes

Clean cat litter box and change filter

Bathrooms:

Clean shower, mirror, sink, toilet, floor, door

Clean trash can

Wash window and wipe blinds

Wash walls and ceiling

Remove mineral build up from shower head

Remove any unwanted items from medicine cabinet

Dust air vents

Inventory items in linen closet, remove any unwanted items, dust shelves

Office:

File taxes

Wash curtains, wipe down blinds, wash windows

Dust computer, desk, and book shelves

Vacuum office chair

Dust light fixture, walls, and ceiling

Clean yoga mat and other work out accessories

Clean out e-mail box, book marks, and other internet files

Organize pictures and saved files

Update home management binder, insurance binder, and financial binder

Update budget, investment accounts, insurance

Clean out filing cabinet and remove any unnecessary files

Plan school year

Clean out arts and craft supplies

Vacuum

Outside:

Sweep porches and clean door mats

Remove any debris

Remove winter mulch from garden

Fertilize garden

Plan and plant spring garden

Plan summer garden

Clean and organize outdoor toys

Clean grill and grilling accessories

Fill bird feeders, clean out bird houses, and bird baths

Wash outside windows

Wash sides of house

Clean out gutters

Clean exhaust fan outlets and air conditioning coils

Check roof

Check drainage around house

Check for signs of rodents, bats, or termites

Remove insulation around faucets and check hoses

Reacclimatize plants to the outdoors that were stored indoors for winter

Put up clothes lines

Car:

Change oil and air filters

Wash and wax exterior

Vacuum interior

Wipe down vinyl and plastic with a damp cloth and all purpose cleaner

Wash windows

Clean out glove compartment and other storage areas

Remove unnecessary toys from car

Check insurance cards and registration

Update emergency kit

Garage:

Clean and organize tools

Remove any trash and unwanted items

Sweep floors

Dust shelves and surfaces

Perform maintenance of bikes, mowers, and other equipment

Check for sign of rodents, bats, roaches, or termites

Miscellaneous Items:

Trim dead leaves off of house plants

Fertilize houseplants

Get sports physicals, check vaccines up to date for people and pets

Schedule dental cleaning and vision appointment

Check fire extinguisher

Wash brooms and mops

Update emergency kit, eat out any food in kit

Change air filters

Test for radon

Clean door knobs

Change vacuum cleaner filter
Purchase fire wood
